Cliffedale Primary School

Be the best that you can be

Gary Douglas (Vice-Chair of Governors)

Gary S Douglas, LCC appointed Governor,

I have been a Governor at the school since May 2023 and volunteered for the role as a Governor when I left Lincolnshire County Council in February 2023 where I worked as the Manager for the Counter Fraud & Investigation Team.

Since joining Cliffedale, I have been involved in the areas of Special Needs, Health and Safety and Finance. I am currently the Chair of the Finance and Pay Committees.  In September 2023 I became the Vice Chair of the Governing Board.

I enjoy being part of the Community at Cliffedale and get into school as often as I can to meet Teachers, pupils, parents and other staff that make the school the great place that it is.

My background is that I am a retired Police Officer, having worked in the Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard as a Senior Detective for 32 years. I specialised in Local and International Fraud and then Homicide in East London.

My past time is spent in Community volunteering at Belton House (National Trust) in Grantham as a House Experience Guide, spending time travelling in my motor home with my wife and 2 Labrador dogs around the UK and Europe along with the odd sunny ☀️ holidays abroad.

Regards,

Gary Douglas
