Be the best that you can be

Y3/4 Sycamore - Mrs Marshall

Hello Class 3/4VM

I hope you have all enjoyed being back at school today. I have enjoyed having you all back in the classroom and it has been lovely to see your happy faces.

Just to let you know our PE days are Tuesday's (this is inside but children can wear their shorts under their joggers if they wish so they are not cold the rest of the day!) and Wednesday afternoon (this is outside).

I look forward to getting to know you all over the coming year. :-)

Design and Technology - We designed a game involving a working circuit, we explored and tested the circuit, we created and made the game and the evaluated our ideas.

WOW Work! Some of our class have enjoyed creative writing at home in their spare time and we are so proud of the work they have produced.

GLOW Day -The children loved being outside, hunting for bugs, holding and observing them with magnifying glasses, bug boxes and microscopes. We explored the different type of trees on the school grounds and Mrs. Crossland taught us all about them. Finally, we enjoyed making weather vanes, rain gauges - using plastic bottles and jelly and we made our own anemometer.

Growing, Growing, Growing - During Easter half term Bella and Evie got busy planting! They have done an amazing job watering and taking care of them.

NSPCC Maths Day- we enjoyed a range of Maths games and activities and even completed some Cliffedale Challenges!

Science Day - We have experimented with different types of plastic, created our own Super Robo Bugs using different bugs and learnt about the importance of using a range of sources to check facts.

Design Technology Day - We have created our own bug hotels, made a natural material paintbrush and designed our own mandala patterns.

We had a lot of fun learning about the myth of St George and the Dragon.

We listened carefully to the story and spent some mindfulness time connecting with others and retelling the story!
