EYFS Foxes and Squirrels - Mrs Bowers and Mrs Syed

Welcome to the class page of the Foxes and Squirrels!

We are looking forward to sharing some of our super learning with you! You can also find out what we've been up to each week, by following our school's Twitter page: https://twitter.com/cliffedale_sch

Please scroll down to the bottom of our class page to see important documents relating to what we are learning and ways in which you can support your child with their learning. You will also find documents to support parents and carers with using Tapestry.

*PE will be on a Monday and a Wednesday- the children will need to come to school in their PE kit on both of these days!*

On indoor PE days, the children will need to wear their blue t-shirt, shorts with tracksuit bottoms over the top, socks and trainers. The children will also need to bring a hoodie or a long-sleeved sweatshirt, coat etc. to ensure that they are warm enough for the rest of the days activities.

On outdoor PE days, the children will need to wear their blue t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, a hoodie or a long-sleeved sweatshirt, socks and trainers. Long hair will need to be tied back and earrings removed.

Useful websites to support learning

Phonics Play https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/parents

Here you will find a selection of free Phonics resources and games to reinforce your child's learning in Phonics. We use these in school, so your child will be familiar with them. This website also has lots of useful information for parents and carers including understanding what Phonics is, what schools do and how you can support your child.

Jolly Phonics songs are also a fabulous way of helping your child to remember the individual phonemes that we learn. We love singing the songs and doing the actions! You can find the songs here: https://vimeo.com/106231366

Teach Your Monster to Read

https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com/

This resource is in a game format. The computer version is completely free, or the content can be purchased as an app for a small fee. The game gives children opportunities to practise their Phonics skills including recognising individual phonemes and tricky words, blending and segmenting while taking their own monster on a magical journey!

Top Marks https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/counting

Here you will find a selection of free Maths games that we use in school. You can find a number of fun counting, matching, ordering, adding and subtracting games on this website.

Cbeebies https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies

The Cbeebies website has a number of videos, games and stories available to support our 'Theme' work. You can often find some of our weekly stories being read by famous people on Cbeebies Bedtime Stories.
