We have had a great start to Term 5 after our bubble closure last term. The children are settling back into our class routines. A big thank you to all of our parents for supporting the children's online learning during this difficult year and to the children for all of your hard work. We are so proud of you.
Our PE days this term are:
Thursday morning- indoor
On PE days children will need to come to school in their PE kit (blue t shirt, jogging bottoms, sweatshirt or long sleeve sports top.) On indoor PE days they will also need PE shorts on under their jogging bottoms. On both days the children will need to wear socks and trainers to school. Tights are not suitable for PE and earrings will need to be removed.
We have just begun a fabulous online course in English where we are working with well-know author, Pie Corbett. Updates to follow.
Rounders in PE
Year 5/6 AP have been learning how to play rounders this term. There has been plenty of healthy competition between the teams.
Our DT day was full of excitement. We researched the risks and challenges that astronauts would face on a voyage to Mars and we designed a manned space capsule that had to land safely on Mars. Because no willing astronauts were available, we used an egg. The craft had to land safely without damaging our 'egg-astronaut'.
The children completed a range of interesting experiments on our Science Day. We launched a balloon rocket on a string, made very messy non Newtonian Oobleck and took part in many other interesting scientific investigations.
